No, not the NBA which has great athletes but isn't really basketball. It's more of a glorified track meet with great athletes, but where you spend most of the races watching the celebrities in the stands before checking out the last few meters of the races.
And honestly, the college game is getting almost as boring with the only drama being if anyone will defeat the 'one and done' superpowers for the national title. If that doesn't happen, enjoy the great regular season games and forget the NCAA Tournament.
It's high school basketball season where styles still clash, a fundamentally sound team can still be a state champion, and you never know what's going to happen. And to celebrate the things that do happen, I'm bringing back the Roll of Honor. Where we recognize all the great team and individual accomplishments achieved during the year. Below is a list of statistical achievements we'll be recognizing, but anything of note we'll consider. Perfect field goal or free throw percentage, team 3 pointers made or blocks, etc. And all school records are welcome including career, season, and game marks.
As we get a new entry to the Roll of Honor, we'll tweet it out for everyone to enjoy. Then each week, I'll put out the updated listing of all entries for the year highlighting the newest additions. And everyone in the Ozarks can recognize the great things our student athletes have done. So coaches, either email the information you'd like us to add or consider to kjoboo@gmail.com, or tweet it to @TheRealJoboo, and we'll get it out for everyone to enjoy. Now let's get out there and play some basketball.
