Joboo's Roll of Honor - 12/14

We're adding a new team to the Roll of Honor this week.  And the story of how they have arrived is interesting.  Last week, Guy received a Facebook message from Kyle Poynter.  Some of you may remember Kyle.  I started doing the Roll of Honor during the 2010-2011 season.  The year before that, Poynter was a star for Houston averaging over 24 points per game and scoring 50 points in a game against Willow Springs.

Poynter is in his second year of coaching at Tuscumbia and still knows scorers.  Last year while coaching the Tuscumbia girls, Poynter had a player go for 51 points in a game.  This season he has taken over the boys team and told Guy he would like to get a player on the Roll of Honor.  Guy let me know and since Tuscumbia is near to my home area, I decided to add them.

After getting the information from Poynter, the Roll of Honor has a new leader in boys points & rebounds, and the first boys 20/20 double double.  During the semifinals of the Pilot Grove Tournament, Orrie Patterson scored 47 points as the Lions beat Prairie Home.  Then in the championship game, David Huddleston scored 37 points and snagged 22 rebounds as they brought home the tournament title.

Also on the boys side, McAuley's Brendyn Taylor registered a new high in assists with 14, Kickapoo scored 102 points last night for the new team high, and Luke Davis if Lighthouse Christian logged the first triple double of the season.

For the girls Caitlin Mueller of Thomas Jefferson found a spot on the rebounds list, Hermitage's Sheridan Corum joined the assists list, Alton's Hailee Erikson hit 7 3-pointers to share second place, Maggie Phipps of New Covenant and Fair Grove's Alana Findley each had 9 steals in a game.

And five players scored their 1,000th point last week.  Bradleyville's Kourtney Shipley, Rylee Neill of Lockwood, Jared Ridder of Kickapoo, Landon Davis of Sparta, and Connor Wilkins of Morrisville each reached 4 digits in points this week.
