PCCC: White River Valley Electric wins Price Cutter Pro-
Am
A White River Electric team that included recent Senior
Long Drive champion John Cyrus can walk with an extra
bounce in its collective step this weekend during the
Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr
Pepper.
The foursome, paired with pro Zach Fischer, won the
annual Price Cutter Pro-Am by firing a 43 in field of 28
teams at Highland Springs Country Club. The team
included Don Phillips, Lyle Rowland, Steve Wendler and
Cyrus, a Mount Vernon native who regularly turns out
for Missouri Sports Hall of Fame celebrity golf events.
The scramble format included the top 54 money leaders
on the PGA Tour’s annual Web.com Tour, which plays
Thursday through Sunday at Highland Springs. The pros
were required to walk the course.
The Hayden Machinery team of Justin Hayden, Nate
Seriotac, Taylor Robertson and Matt Kelly placed second
with a 43, doing so as they played with pro Todd Baek.
A Price Cutter team of George Mires, Jeffrey Centerino
and Mike Seever captured third place by scoring a 46.
Their pro was Alex Aragon.
The Price Cutter Pro-Am was among the nearly 20
fundraising events in the build-up to the PCCC, which
has generated almost $12 million for local children’s
charities in its 25-year history. That figure includes a
record $1 million-plus last year.
For tickets, call 417-887-3400, or stop by the Missouri
Sports Hall of Fame, 3861 E. Stan Musial Drive, which is
about a mile east of the 60-65 interchange and sits next
to Highland Springs.
