District round up from Thursday Night

Well we have some rematches as we narrow the number of teams still alive in the state basketball playoffs. ON the girls side, down in Nixa for the District championship, we have a rematch of a game from December 6th between Ozark and Glendale. The final on that day was Ozark 51, Glendale 41. Up in Willard we have the same on the Boys side with Willard v Carthage. A game that was played on Feb 11 in which Tim Huskinson scored 33 pts hitting 9 3 pointers in route to a 69-54 win for Willard. The same goes for the Hillcrest v Rogersville game which is a rematch of the Republic TOurnament Championship game in which the final shot takin in that game gave the Hornets a last second win. But much has changed for these teams since those meetings. Megan Dienes has another full season under her belt, Jackie Wacha may be taking the court for the last time and Haylee Beard is no longer just a sophmore. I doubt Carthage will give up 9 three pointers to Huskinson, but 33 points is nt out of the realm. Will the Central Lady Bulldogs be able to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the past several years as they attempt to derail the Lady Cardinals. Kickapoo and Hillcrest both doing battle shorthanded, Hillcrest definately with a heavy heart as their freshmen phenom, Darnel Green-Beckham, begins the battle of his life vs Leukemia. While Kickapoo has been without Kirk all season. So what can be expected in the next few hours of basketball? Who will step up, who will struglgle with the pressure?

Sports guy-For your information the Ozark Lady Tigers have more on the court than Wacha, (who has played very well) and bench player-Beard who just enters the game for a sparse few minutes each game. Don't forget about Cook, the hot hitting frosh whop can make opponents really look foolish, and returning 3 yr varsity veteran in jr guard Paulsell who can get the ball to the open girl as well as score, bout she and Wacha were excellent in the Glendale match earlier in the season. There's also Howser, a senior leader who can play inside and out and don't forget Williams at the post and off the bench nearly 6 footer Fugate...Glendale has no post play. Should be a great game.

You are correct, it should be a great game. And yes I realize that each one of these teams mentioned have more than one or two players. I apologize for anyone I ommited, but I assure you there was no intent.
