Well after an eventfull 7 days of Holiday tourneys I am ready to list who I think are some of the better teams in Southwest Missouri. We will rank them with regards to classification keeping classes 1-3 together and 4-5 together.
Class 1-3 Boys
1. Strafford
* After an impressive showing in the B&G the Indians have to be on top of this list, losing at the buzzer to Ozark and beating a very good Mt. Vernon team in the third place game.
2. Spokane
*Also getting beat by Ozark at the buzzer, the Owls look to hav a great season in a very touph conference and District, they should be fun to watch down the stretch.
3. Mt. Vernon
* With a Player like Zack Kliene the Mountaineers always have a shot, taking Hillcrest to 3 ot's before losing a game where both teams were short players key to thier success thus far. Look for the Mountaineers to rebound nicely when Tettenhorst returns.
4. Clever
*After erasing a 20+ point defecit to Bolivar they just couldn't get it going against Nixa, the Eagles had a lot to do with that. But look for them to make a run at the end as well.
5. Seneca, Southwest, Dadeville, Miller all these teams have had good starts and look to make runs now as we start conference play.
Class 1-3 Girls
1. Mt. Vernon
*At 9-1 the Lady Mountaineers have gotten of to a great start including winning 2 tournaments the latest being the Pink and White. The only blemish being a 6 pt loss at Nixa. With big wins over Fair Grove and West Plains this is a team that should contend for several late season honors.
2. Conway
*Now this is where it get tricky, these next few teams will all make noise at the end of the year I believe.
3. Fair Grove
*Coming off of the Championship of the Neosho tourney the Lady Eagles look to bounce back from early season defeats to some vey good teams.
4. Skyline
* Seem to always be on this list, in a very touph district with the Likes of Pleasant Hope, Stockton and Morrisville.
5. Blue Eye
*Look for this team to be there in the end as well, a decent showing in the P&W playing Mt. Vernon very close for the 1st half of that game.

Don't know if I'd consider Miller's start a good enough start to warrant honorable mention status.
Losses to Marionville, Seneca(by 21), Clever, Kickapoo(by 23) with wins over Golden City, Lamar and Marshfield. Their reputation from last year may be influencing the perception of this year's team.
Glad to see the class 1 Dadeville made the list. And I really like Spokane and Strafford to do some good things later this year.
I like Strafford and Spokane as well, Clever should be there at the end as well, next year may be the end of the line for Clever's run they are senior dominated. I like Spokane a little better than Strafford, I think that the Wilson boy is good but I would still prefer the calmness and attitude of the Price boy to lead my team. But they both will be there in the end.
