Well we are just beyond the half way point, what do we know?

Most dominant teams:

As I attempt to look at who may be the most dominant team at this point of the season I have decided to break down a few areas, points scored, points allowed and opponents record. I will list the 5 teams from the area who are unbeatend at this time and let you decide in the Poll.

Webb City
Of the 5 teams in this poll Webb is the only team whose opponents have a winning record (19-16). Webb has scored more than any other team in this poll as well at 247 (41 pts per game). While giving up 90 (15 per). They dodged a bullet last week as a very good Neosho team was within a few plays of sending that game to ot.

Greenfield
Greenfield has givin' up 56 pts (9 per game) while scoring 231 (39 per) and have played the second best schedule record wise at 16-20. They are the front runner for the Spring River Valley Championship. On this list they went farther than anyone other than State Champion Webb Last year.

Fair Grove
The Eagles have givin' up the fewest point per game at 7 while scoring 212 (35) . But thier opponents record is just 11-25. They are still dominant but not perhaps as dominant as Webb or even Greenfield.

Monett
The Cubs schedule has gotten toupher as the year has progressed, the last three weeks teams with .500 record overall including a 1-5 Aurora who perhaps has been of the most improved from a year ago. Monett is scoring around 29 per while giving up 9 and their overall oponents record is 11-25. But their schedule will continue to get touph with Seneca and Cassville looming in districts.

Rolla
Rolla has played the weakest schedule thus far among these 5 schools with opponents at 10-26 but have managed to score 226 (37 per game) and only giving up just over 11 pts per. They have a very good offensive team in Hillcrest to go to this week and looking forward to that one myself.

Biggest suprises

The Aurora Houn'Dogs have to be one of the suprises, a few turnovers away from some substantial moral victories. Although scoring about the same as last year, around 8 pts per game, they are giving up 20 points less per game on defense. Case in point last week the Monett Cubs beat them 14-7 and last year that game was 63-7. They are on the way to change the culture down there and get back to those championship type teams of 10 years ago.

Another pleasant suprise is those Jasper Eagles, 2-10 a year ago including a 37 point opening week loss to Pierce City. Jasper gave up a conference high 38 pts per game last year and have cut that to 19 this year. Jasper enters week 7 with a 4-2 record and it is very possibel that they could win out with Drexel, Lockwood, McAuley and Sarcoxie (who is also improved) remaing.

How about those Hillcrest Hornets, coming off of several loosing seasons and being the smallest school in the Ozark Conference, they are a play away from being 5-1. With a big game this week with conference leading Rolla on Friday the Hornets could set themselves up as the favorite in thier district.

Fair Grove schedule is a weak schedule. Fair Grove’s hardest opponents is Strafford and they are 3-3 and two of there lost are #1 Warsaw and #8 MT. View Liberty. So you can't compare them to a Webb City or even a Greenfield.

The Fair Grove and Strafford Game is going to be a big game. Fair Grove opponents record is just 11-25 and Strafford opponents record is 17-19.
